What do your hands smell like?
A talk on the importance of understanding your context
Your hands tell the story of where you have been, where you live, what brought to where you are.
Many of us live a continually disconnected lives, we separate our lives into neat boxes, we have places for work, for fun, for exercise, for spirituality. Yet we are whole beings. We live our lives continually through our screens instead of our ‘eyes’.
We have become disconnect from our own context.
And so has many of our businesses, merely copying what is being done ‘overseas’, hoping that it will work in our context, but it doesn’t, at least not always.
This talk asks, what does it look like to live and work in your city, what does it look like to be human in Pretoria, in Cape Town, in Tokyo? What does it look and feel and smell like to run a business in Africa, in Italy, in Iceland?
This talk, featured at TEDx Pretoria, is an inspiring piece, with lots and lots of food for thought about how we live and how we do business within our contexts.

Bottomline:
We need to live embodied lives, take on flesh, be incarnated into a specific context in order to live and work successfully and authentically.
