I received this quote as a comment on the Medicate blog last week, it's from the legendary scifi writer Frank Herbert; “I must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer. Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration. I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over me and through me. And when it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path. Where the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain.” Bene-Geserit, Litany against fear, Frank Herbert, Dune The key phrase here is not, I must not fear, it is, I will permit it to pass over me and through me. Another author writes that we should be as a hollow bone when it comes to fear. Fear is impossible to block, it wells up and crashes through eventually, or reason with, it is much smarter than you are. The best strategy is to permit it, feel it, and let it pass over and through you. Reasoning with fear makes it stronger, blocking fear even more so. Today, be a hollow bone. Get skin in the game. Pierre PS, thanks Ben van Wyk for posting the quote
