ramblings.
Things happen to us. We make things happen to us. Whatever happens to us, there is always a lesson. A friend of mine told me at the start of the year, before we moved to Cape Town, that this lesson is always the same.
I really want to impress her.
I need to make an impact on them. I want to knock their socks off. A way to move forward. This phrase I learnt from Trevor Hudson, a methodist preacher, anti apartheid activist, author, and all round incredible person, now before you click away ('cause religious stuff), give this a chance.
It works in more ways than in a Sunday morning sermon. YES. Ask yourself, what is the YES, that you are invited to (Trevor would say by God, but you can go with Universe, or destiny, or just life.) What is the big promise, the end of the rainbow, the goal, the better life, the dream life, the peace, the passion, the joy, the healing, the restoration? Write it down. It's been said that almost all the problems in the world today are born because people can't sit in a room alone by themselves.
We say "less is more", but what we all want, if we are honest, is more. We want more of whatever we have.
